Asset Management

AHMA’s Asset Strategies team wants to empower our members to have greater autonomy and self-determination in stewarding their assets.  Our team assists our members with capital and portfolio planning, capital renewals and technical support.

Asset Strategies is made of three separate teams:

Portfolio and Capital Planning

We provide members with effective housing portfolio and capital planning to achieve their housing visions through:

  • Gathering and maintaining building condition data
  • Reporting on current asset performance
  • Develop portfolio strategic plans
  • Support redevelopment proposal development
  • Support new development projects

Capital Projects

We provide impactful project management support that advances the quality and quantity of our members housing portfolio through:

  • Capital planning and renewal project planning
  • Project application and funding
  • Project management support
  • Procurement lead

Engagement and Technical Support

We provide useful resources that empower our members to steward their housing assets.

  • Training, resources and research
  • Technical support
  • Sector partnerships
  • Communications and engagement
  • Asset Planner Implementation

AHMA provides valuable resources to improve asset stewardship in honor of the Seventh Generation Principle. The Seventh Generation Principle is based on a Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)* philosophy that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world seven generations into the future.

This year, AHMA is partnering with the BC Retrofit Accelerator, a Zero Emissions Innovation Centre program, co-funded by Natural Resources Canada’s Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative, the Ronald S. Roadburg Foundation, Metro Vancouver, and other contributors.
